Connor Kenway Sketches

So for today, I did some sketches of Assassin's Creed 3's Connor Kenway. I practiced action/dynamic poses some more and tried to color one. I got the poses from the cinematic trailer of the game. Here's what I came up with:

Here's my original sketch:

This one I got from the cover of the game:

The Human Torch

So I've been practicing "Marvel" style of sketching for a few days now. I've been drawing hands, gestures, muscles, faces, etc. I really love comics and I love Marvel. I wanted to try sketching characters just like in my comic books. So here's my take on Johnny Storm, The Human Torch:

This is kind of a long post, but bear with me, it's all fun! So no Sketch-A-Day for today, I decided to continue it some other time. Though I will continue to sketch everyday if I can. I just need some time to practice my craft more, I believe I still need to improve more. A lot more. It's fun practicing and seeing yourself evolve. And when I can, I'll upload my works again for you to see! :D

Well anyway, this is a little bit of a late upload, MY BATCH'S ANIMATION FESTIVAL!:

First up is my booth. My collaterals which consisted of my pins, key chains and calling cards were wiped clean in about 30 mins-1 hour I think. Thank you to all of those who supported my film!:

Here's the entrance to the theater where our films were shown (ANIFEST V):

Me wearing an afro wig owned by my co-presenter, who also showcased their graduation film, AfroThunder:

Day 3 of Sketch-A-Day! And this time, it's Jack Frost from the film "Rise of the Guardians"!

I would love it if anyone joins me in doing this. All you have to do is sketch anything you want, everyday or every other day, and upload it. Link me and I'll take a look! I just love seeing artworks from other artists!

The Beard

Hey guys! Since school is almost finished and all that's left is my graduation, and since I'm not too busy anymore, now I can sketch everyday once again! I really love sketching (thus my blog header), I'll do many sketches each day and upload one, or two, or three or whatever, when I can.

So yesterday it was Nathan Drake from the Uncharted Series, and earlier I did a sketch of "The Beard". Olympic Gold Medalist and Houston Rocket, James Harden:

Nathan Drake

Our Animation Festival was a complete success! It was held last Friday. I'm gonna upload pics maybe this week, I haven't really organized the photos yet. For the meantime, since this is an art blog and not a photo blog or whatever, I'm going back to my artworks.

So here's a quick Nathan Drake sketch. Digi cam quality haha. Tried digital painting but to no avail. For some reason I just cant blend colors very well to achieve a more realistic look haha. Gonna try and color this another way I guess. :))

Thesis External Defense

Hey guys, this upload is a little bit late but here it is. Finally! My external defense for my film: Chase! This was last Monday, and I am very very very happy with the result of the defense, and of course, with what the panelists said about my film! There were 4 panelists who are professionals in the film industry. A lot of positive feedback went my way and I was so surprised that they liked it that much. It was really fun, along with my professors, friends and co-defenders, cheering and supporting me while I presented my film. It was such a wonderful experience, one that I will never forget.

This picture was actually taken after the defense:

Some pics of me presenting my film:

Here's a pic of some of my friends and professors watching and supporting me while I presented my film:

And in this pic, I was giving two thumbs up to the crowd, while they cheered and clapped, as I finished presenting my film:

It was really an amazing experience, for me and my friends!
