This Amazing Dude

Saw The Amazing Spider-Man movie this past weekend. And it was so amazing indeed! The movie nailed the teenager interpretation of the original Spider-Man story. Although I would like for Spider-Man to be more of a "joker", just like when he joked about his weakness was small knives in the movie trailer.

Anyway, I just had to do an artwork of the "original spidey" because I was so inspired by the movie. This took me a while to draw (first time trying to draw spidey, took me three tries. I was a little confused on the blue part of his costume on his body) but here it is! The coloring style is the same as my TLoK: Tenzin artwork but without the white outline because I scanned this drawing a little bit wrong, and when I apply the effect, the white outlines turns out distorted.

TLoK: Tenzin

I recently watched the Legend of Korra Season 1 finale and it was so good! I really like the look of Tenzin's airbending. So I could not keep myself from doing this artwork inspired by him. I tried a different style of coloring and inking once again, and I really like the outcome. I hope you all like it. I can't wait for the second season of TLoK!

Batman Arkham

I recently finished Batman: Arkham Asylum GOTY and it was great. For the past 2 weeks I've been playng Batman: Arkham City GOTY and I must say it supersedes its predecessor. This artwork is also a break for me since I've been working really hard on my thesis film. I'm really proud of this piece since I am still practicing and this is only the second time I practiced this kind of inking and coloring style, which I first used on my inFamous artwork. I really like how this artwork turned out. This is just basically Batman readying to throw his batarang at the Joker thug. I also used the original logo of batman as his shadow to portray some sort of a symbolism, paying respect to the original dark knight:

And here are my original sketches and the original colored version of the Joker thug:

Dark Knight

Just a quick sketch I did this morning of the dark knight using the cintiq tablet at my school. I did this as a morning warm up doodle while waiting for my class to begin. I played around with the brush tool and tried to get the shadows and highlights:

inFamous

So I thought since summer is going to end here in the Philippines, and I'm going to work on my thesis film once again, I thought I should learn, practice, and make more artworks while I can. And lately, I've been craving to play a game called inFamous, again. It's one of my favorite games, and so I've decided to make a fanart of the main hero and villain, Cole and Kessler. I practiced different ways of coloring and inking in photoshop, as well as drawing the characters in a stylized form, in what I envisioned them in my mind, in my style, to make them come to life. And I learned a lot while making this artwork. Here it is!:

Cole Progress:

Kessler Progress (I had a hard time deciding on the eyes of Kessler, in the end I decided for it to be plain grayish white since I think it looks more sinister):

Watercolor Practice

This was the very first time I tried using watercolors. I had so much fun and I learned a thing or two about tones and mixtures of colors. I recently bought a waterbrush and some watercolors, and I can't wait to get started on painting again!

First, here is a sketch of my professor's glass water bottle:

And here is another sketch of his water bottle which I decided to paint:

And his hat:
